KAREN BEAUCHAMP

Karen is an experimental printmaker working on the Atlantic coast of Scotland, her fascination is with the shapes and structures of the ancient rocks where the land meets the sea.
Her work is elementally abstract, reacting to the formation, layering and the energy driven fissures in formation of the rocks, plus their relationship to the formation of tree structures and shoreline details like wind and water patterns in the sand.
Working mainly with monotype in a square format, using recycled materials cut into shapes to make small limited editions of about 10 pieces, and one off 3D collages re-using the recycled printing plates .
Colour has also been an enduring passion since childhood and she is completely absorbed by the daily changing colours of the seasons.
